Dynamic and static wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles appear only with movement. Left untreated, they can become static and stay visible at rest.
Wrinkles are a natural part of ageing and rarely a medical concern, but treatment can soften them.
What causes wrinkles
Age is the main cause. Ultraviolet light and smoking weaken the skin’s elasticity, and repeated facial expressions leave permanent grooves as skin becomes less flexible.
Everyone gets wrinkles. Regular sun exposure and smoking make them more likely.
Treatment options
- Botox treats dynamic wrinkles by relaxing the muscle beneath them, which also helps prevent static wrinkles from forming.
- Hyaluronic acid fillers restore volume beneath static wrinkles.
- Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra restore lost volume gradually.
- CO₂ laser resurfacing vaporises the outer layer of skin and stimulates new collagen.
- Microneedling and chemical peels improve fine lines and skin texture.
Dr. Guo personally performs Botox, dermal filler and CO₂ laser resurfacing treatments.
