1. Who we are

This website is operated by Dr. Danny Guo, who practises at Rejuvenation Calgary North, 405, 130 Country Village Road NE, Calgary, Alberta T3K 6B8 (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website.

2. The laws that apply

We handle personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Health information collected when you become a patient is governed by Alberta’s Health Information Act (HIA) and the standards of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. Marketing emails and other commercial electronic messages are sent in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

3. Information we collect

• Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry or sign up to our mailing list, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, the treatment you are interested in, and your message.
• Information collected automatically. When you browse this website, we and our service providers may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site.

Please do not send detailed medical history or other sensitive health information through the website forms. We will discuss this with you directly, by phone or in the clinic.

4. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange consultations or appointments.
• To send you information about our products, services, offers and events, only if you have given your express consent.
• To maintain, secure and improve this website.
• To meet our legal and professional obligations.

We collect only the information reasonably needed for these purposes, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. Consent and marketing

By submitting a form, you consent to our using your information to respond to you. Marketing messages are sent only if you opt in, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and may use analytics and advertising tags, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to help us understand how the site is used and to measure our marketing. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count, in aggregate, how the site is used and how many visitors go on to book: for example, which pages are visited, and whether someone clicks a booking button, calls, sends an enquiry, or, in an online tool such as a quiz, which general topic they chose (for example, “acne”). It is told only the page and the kind of click: never anything you type into a form, your name, email address or phone number, or any health information. Google signals, advertising personalization and remarketing are turned off, and we do not link visits to you. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) to recognize a returning browser. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager are not loaded at all. You can also block them in your browser’s settings or with an extension.

Skincare shop (DermShop). On our Skincare pages, the Add to cart buttons and the cart are Shopify’s Buy Button, a script that comes from our own site and loads only on those pages. To show live prices, sizes and stock and to keep your cart, your browser connects to DermShop’s Shopify store (rejuvenation-dermatology-clinics.myshopify.com) and loads product images from Shopify (cdn.shopify.com). Your cart’s number is kept in your browser’s local storage so the cart follows you from page to page; it holds products and quantities, nothing about you. Checkout happens on DermShop’s Shopify checkout, under DermShop’s and Shopify’s privacy policies. Google Analytics is told only that a product was added to the cart, and which product (by its number).

7. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate this website and communicate with you, such as website hosting, form handling, email and analytics providers, and only to the extent they need it to provide those services. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law.

8. How long we keep information

Enquiries submitted through this website, and our responses, are held in our email system for a minimum of 12 months. Patient health records are retained for the periods required by the Health Information Act and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta. Information that is no longer needed is securely deleted or destroyed.

9. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information you send through this website.

10. Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use, subject to legal limits. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines set by Alberta law.

11. Children

This website is not directed at people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through the website.

12. Links to other websites

This website links to other sites, including social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
