Redness and visible blood vessels
Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser. It targets the hemoglobin inside small blood vessels, which is why it is used for rosacea, facial redness, broken capillaries and red scars. It can also help when dark circles look blue or purple because vessels are showing through thin under-eye skin.
Combining laser with a retinoid at home, which slowly builds collagen so the skin is less see-through, tends to work better than either alone. Most people need a series of treatments, and results build over several weeks.

What is Vbeam?
Vbeam Perfecta is a pulsed dye laser that uses gentle bursts of light to precisely target redness, small blood vessels and capillaries.
It is used for:
- Facial and leg veins
- Visible blood vessels
- Red spots (angiomas)
- Rosacea, sun spots and port-wine stains
Who is it for?
Vbeam is suitable for most people; suitability is assessed individually, and darker skin tones need a careful assessment because the risk of pigment changes is higher.
It is not recommended if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have been on anti-acne medication in the past 6 months
- Have a deep tan
Comfort and aftercare
- The procedure is generally well tolerated.
- Avoid extended sun exposure and harsh scrubbing for a few weeks before and after treatment.
- Common side effects are mild swelling and irritation in the treated area.
Results
- Some small capillaries targeted by the laser may fade after the first treatment, and improvement continues as the skin heals.
- After 1 to 2 weeks, the treated area should look less pigmented.
- You may need up to 5 sessions, usually about 1 month apart; the timing of each session is decided at follow-up.

What is the Vbeam laser?
Vbeam is a pulsed dye laser that targets blood vessels in the skin. It is used to reduce redness and visible vessels with limited effect on the surrounding skin.
Who performs Vbeam treatments at Rejuvenation Calgary North?
Vbeam treatments at Rejuvenation Calgary North are performed by our clinical team under the medical direction of Dr. Danny Guo, a double board-certified dermatologist.
What does Vbeam treat?
Vbeam is used for rosacea and facial redness, broken capillaries, facial and leg veins, red spots (angiomas), sun spots and port-wine stains.
How many Vbeam sessions will I need?
Some small vessels fade after the first treatment. You may need up to 5 sessions, usually about 1 month apart; the timing is decided at follow-up.
Are there side effects or downtime with Vbeam?
Common side effects include mild swelling, redness and irritation in the treated area, and temporary bruising can occur. Avoid extended sun exposure and harsh scrubbing for a few weeks before and after treatment.
Who should not have Vbeam treatment?
Vbeam is not recommended for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a deep tan, or have taken certain acne medications in the past 6 months.
Does Vbeam hurt?
Most people describe each pulse as a quick snap, like a rubber band against the skin. The laser cools the skin with each pulse to make treatment more comfortable.
When will I see results from Vbeam?
Some small vessels may fade after the first treatment, and improvement continues as the skin heals over the following weeks.
How long do Vbeam results last?
Vessels that have cleared usually do not come back, but new ones can appear over time, and rosacea is a long-term condition. Some people choose occasional maintenance treatments.
